10-3-25   THOUGHTS

We all want to be known as “wise and understanding”!  We are given a behavioral definition below.  There’s a powerful comment on what is NOT heavenly wisdom!  Jealousy and selfish ambition leads to arrogance which lies against the truth!  James talks about the GENTLENESS OF WISDOM.  In verse 17, he lists some  qualities.  Jas 1:20   “for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.”    Peace and gentleness are a big part of the wisdom from above!

Jas 3:13-18    Who among you is wise and understanding?  Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.  14  But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. 15  This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. 16  For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. 17  But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.  18  And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Our Prayer:
O God, we ask for Your great wisdom to be in us.  Your Spirit words give us that wisdom, help us to strive with all of our might to find it.  Remove selfish ambition and arrogance from us.  Help us always to be peaceable and gentle in our wisdom.  All love and  praise to our God, and to Jesus our Savior.   We pray in his name,,,   Amen.
